Looking For Information On Remote Control Tanks?
Hey there and welcome to my website about remote control tanks!
I started this site so I could document my findings while researching the many different remote control tanks that are out there today.
I’ve always been a bit of a nut when it comes to remote control vehicles and recently I’ve developed an addiction to remote control tanks!
So lets take a quick look at what I think are probably the top 3 remote control tanks available right now and talk about what you should be looking for in an RC tank before you buy.
Top 3 Remote Control Tanks for 2011-2012
What’s better than one tank? Two tanks
This is currently the top pick if you’re looking for some really cool remote control tank action. The thing with tanks is that they’re designed to fight – I realized this after I bought my first one. Sure, it’s cool to drive em around but it’s a lot more fun if you can pit them against each other

These tanks come highly recommended from reviewers on Amazon.com which is why I chose them as my top-pick. Positive reviewers have noted that the batteries charge very quickly and stay charged for a couple of hours, sound and lighting effects are great and the battle laser works excellent.
One thing to mention about these tanks however – They DO NOT work well on carpet. For some reason the treads will come off on carpet but not on smooth surfaces or even outside in the dirt!

I chose this as my next pick because it is a very realistic representation of an actual Abrams tank which is one of my favorite tanks of all time.
The realism in this tank is really great and if you’re looking for a RC tank that will give you a great “tank experience” than this is definitely worth considering. The tracks work excellent as does the completely maneuverable turret (up/down, side/side).

Of course the best thing about the Abrams RC Battle Tank is the cannon – You can fire airsoft pellets up to 25 meters with this baby! Buy two and you can easily battle them although the experience will be far more realistic (read: HARD) with two of these than with the laser tanks described above!
This tank also received a number of excellent reviews – People are very impressed with the level of detail with this tank as well as the ability of the tracks to cover a great deal of terrain. People also love the canon although we should mention that this thing could pose a hazard to eyes etc… and we would recommend that you only let your children shoot it under supervision!
It should be noted that while you can use this tank outdoors it may not be a great idea as dirt and small particles can get inside the tracks and cause issues.

The German Tiger 1 was a fearsome WWII tank that could eat a Sherman for lunch if they ever ran into each other. Unfortunately there weren’t very many of these tanks made (~1600) especially in comparison to the US Sherman (~50,000).

However, none of this changes the fact that this is a great rc tank! It features some excellent metal parts including a metal machine gun while the track is still plastic (easier to maintain). This is a very realistic looking tank that has received some very good reviews as well.
A few things to mention with this tank which will hopefully save you a few problems :
- Charge this tank for at least 5 hours before first use
- Do not use in the snow as plastic tracks will break very quickly – in general it is better to keep this tank inside
- Do not run the smoke fluid dry – that is what causes issues and will break the mechanism
Aside from that this is a great tank that you will be very happy with if you treat it properly!

Things To Look For When Buying a New RC Tank
Here are a few things that you should always consider when you’re buying a new remote control tank.
- Are you buying the tank for yourself or for a child? Some of these tanks have very really firepower which can easily cause eye injuries etc… Laser tanks are probably a better option for youngsters!
- Do you want to use the tank outside? If so you’ll want to spend more money on a tank with metal tracks that is designed for outdoor use
- Do you want realism? If you’re looking for realism as opposed to saturday afternoon fun with the kids than you may want to look at higher end tanks that fire airsoft pellets as opposed to laser tanks.
Aside from that make sure you read your reviews do you research accordingly and you’ll end up with a tank that provides years of enjoyment! I hope you’ve found some information here that is useful and good luck with your new remote control tank!
